Groundwater Contamination Simulation: DNAPL versus LNAPL

A simulation of a buried contamination source consisting of barrels containing Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (DNAPL) and Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (LNAPL).

The simulation is a pseudo-physical simulation. Contaminate particles follow either gradients provided by the groundwater surface (LNAPL) or gravity and groundwater gradients (DNAPL). DNAPL particles on contact with an Aquitard tend to follow the slope of the aquitard and may move contrary to the groundwater flow direction. The simulation does not fully conceptualize dispersion or other limiting forces to contaminate transfer.

The simulation was prepared and constructed in Blender.
