Ivey-sol® Dissolution and Desorption

Animation illustrates injection of Ivey-sol® particles through an injection gallery into the subsurface. Ivey-sol interacts with contaminants, increasing mobility through dissolution and desorption from the soil matrix. The mixture of contaminant and Ivey-sol product enters a controlled water table gradient, passed a monitoring well used to observe water quality, and into a recovery well.

At 0:25 we zoom into the soil matrix to observe how Ivey-sol particles attach to contaminant mass, desorbing from the soil matrix, allowing enhanced dissolution and mobility into the water table aquifer, to be captured through groundwater pumping of the recovery well.
