Animation illustrates enhanced plume contamination recovery through the injection, and recovery, of Ivey-Sol® into, and from, the subsurface. Ivey-Sol® injections interact with subsurface contaminants, decreasing absorption and adsorption factors thereby increasing contaminant mobilization and dissolution, leading to enhanced plume mass recovery. Enhanced recovery reduces remediation time for site closure over typical pump-and-treat systems.

Time 0:00-0:18 highlights the placement of a primary recovery well (bright green) at the plume center (green) and injection wells (red) at the periphery. The recovery well initiates pumping, drawing down the groundwater table and recovering partial contaminate mass dissolution.

Time 0:18-0:37 highlights the Ivey-Sol® injection diffusion (red) into the contaminant mass (green) forming a heterogeneous mixture (orange) as mobilization leads to enhanced mass recovery.

Time 0:37-0:45 highlights the reduced contaminant mass, enhanced plume dissolution & desorption (orange), as pumping at the recovery well ceases and the groundwater table returns to static levels.
